Google Developing AI Agent to “Take Over” the Browser

Google is developing a new AI agent for browser automation. This tool, known internally as Project Jarvis, is set to launch soon. The Google AI Browser Agent will help users automate everyday tasks such as online shopping, research, and booking flights. It could be introduced as early as December.

Sources revealed that Jarvis works by capturing frequent screenshots of the browser and interpreting them. The AI then responds to commands by clicking buttons or typing into text fields. Google AI Browser Agent is designed to work with web browsers, especially Google Chrome.

This new AI agent arrives as Google expands its Gemini AI technology. Gemini Live, the AI chatbot, now supports dozens of new languages. Recently, Gemini integrated with Google Meet, Photos, and other applications.

News of this development follows closely after Anthropic introduced a similar tool for its Claude AI. Claude uses a wide range of standard software designed for human interaction, and this feature is now available in public beta.
